
Children and parents talk about the facts of life
When parents decide to talk to their children about "the facts of life", which often results in one of those embarrassing situations (from the point of view of children) when parents feel it is their duty to ensure that your children know how a baby done.
The irony is true that how babies are made is only a fraction of the reality "of life." We seem to forget there are more facts important that children need to know about life. The first is health.
Good health is the foundation of our quality life. Health we are the best we function in all aspects of life. So how education young children receive health care on their families, teachers or books? In general, learn something about the human body and organs and their functioning. They can learn more about healthy behavior – diet, exercise, hygiene etc, can receive information about what should and should not do, especially in relation to sex, smoking, alcohol and drugs.
However, if you look at the statistics health of young people, it seems that while children may learn the facts often do not translate into action. The increase of obesity in children shows that the facts of a healthy diet are not real to the young. The levels of alcohol consumption among young people, smoking and drug use show that all young people information that is provided with not having the desired impact.
So what are the most important facts of life that children in the household must be learning while they are still young?
There are two priorities that could transform the simple life of each individual.
1. How To be healthy.
2. How to prevent the disease.
We now know much about health and there is much we can do to prevent any major disease. However, it is a highly pragmatic knowledge is only effective if put into practice. If we teach children's health effectively, we must give them education that actually changes its behavior. If you want to prevent heart disease is simply not enough to know about exercise in theory. You need to exercise regularly.
If you provide effective health education that we must change our approach to education in order to measure changes in the behavior of our rather than children can memorize or write on a sheet of paper. The best information on health can be measured in behavior and action. The words and information is meaningless unless it translates into behavior.
We believe it is unacceptable that children leave school unable to read or write. Each child must be able to count and calculate. All young people learn the biology of the "facts life. But health is more important than any of them. Should be considered more fundamental the numeracy and literacy. We must ensure that children are unable to pass the subject of health until they are healthy. Health is a prerequisite for a high quality of life. Do not give children the right to choose if they learn to read and write. There should be no choice but to find out if they are healthy or not.
If you want to start to make a difference to the health of a child now, it's simple. Take an aspect of health that you feel is important, for example, eat more fruits and vegetables as part of their diet daily. First make sure you are a good example yourself. If you need some time to adjust their own behavior. Then start talking with children to eat more fruits and vegetables. Make sure you always have fruits and vegetables available at meals. Explain why it is good for them. Never anger the lesson or or emotional. Slowly and persistently missed the message that it is safe to eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Whenever you know why. You may have to repeat this regularly for few weeks. But after a while, you see that carry the message themselves. You can even see them teach their friends (or their dolls and other toys) eat more fruits and vegetables. This simple approach can be applied to all aspects of health and because it is the experience you will never forget.
